April 25, 2008

Life really is a highway! Right now I have Rascal Flatts playing "Life is a Highway" on my laptop, and I can't help but to think how much life is like a highway. There are bumps, smooth parts, hills going up and hills going down, and like any highway there is a starting point and an ending point, but we can't see the end of the highway from the beginning, and we will be getting off the highway many times before we each our final desitnation.

There is so much going on right now. The end of the semester is quickly upon me. Next week is my last week of classes, and then all my finals are May 6, and graduation (for my friends) will be on the 10th. This time next year I will be eligible to graduate with my Master's of Arts in Pastor Counseling. I'm halfway finished! How exciting!

It has been an interesting year, lots of valleys, but also some mountain top experiences. The way I see it, this earth is full of valleys, and we will all have our share, but the low times are what the good times so much more special.

Even better is the thought that I KNOW that when I die I'm through with pain, sorrow, tears, because I'm going to Heaven. I get to spend eternity with my Lord and Savior. To Him be the glory, both now on this earth, and forevermore in Heaven and on the new earth.

As many of you are WELL aware I'm in the process of writing a book and hope to get it published. I am well on my way, only a few chapters left, and then the appendix, and then I will actually let a few people read it! For some of you, this has been years in the making, but I promise that by the end of 2008 you will be tired of this book! The book does not easily fit into any 1 category. It is partly autobiographical (with a twist, but I don't want to give away my secrets, you will have to buy it...), partly devotional, and mostly just a chat between my reader and myself. I personally think it is interesting, but I will admit to being biased!

All I need is a good cover, so if you want to volunteer to draw a picture of me sitting in a chair looking into a mirror, but seeing Christ dimly reflected, than you've got the job! I think that is the cover I want for now, but I have other ideas as well... but that is another blog in and of itself!

To give you a bit more of a teaser, so that you will want to run to the store and buy 5 copies of this amazing book (and support me in my endeavor to appear on the NY Times bestseller list! if only! that would rock!!!). I list the 100 Things I want to do in my life. There is no order to them, I just want to do them. Here are a few:
1) Create (all on my own) a piece of furniture
2) Visit all 50 states in the USA
3) Climb the "Step Pyramid" in Egypt
4) Get married to my Prince Charming
5) Have 2 or 3 children
6) Earn my Masters degree (1/2 way there)
7) Be fluent in at least 3 languages
8) Memorize a book of the Bible (I'm think Philemon...!)
9) Be a 21st century example of the Proverbs 31 woman
10) Publish a book
11) Plant a garden
12) Buy a car (I'm in love with the Honda Fit)

Ok, that's it, if you want to see the other 88 you have to either edit my book, publish my book, or buy my book!!! Or you could finish writing my book for me...No, no, I've got it under control (famous last words). I have the "official" 100 thing list organized in my book into categories!

Have a blessed weekend, and know that I am praying for you, and I love you with the love of Christ.
